A one-month research programme for high school students from around the Baltic. A concept for now, one we want to build.
Think of it as an undergraduate research placement, but for high school students.
We want to pair young people from across the region with researchers and research institutions and give them real experience: about a month of genuine work on the Baltic, access to labs, data and mentors. Along the way the Baltic gets the spotlight it deserves, and the region gains a generation that understands the sea from the inside.
This is still a concept. We are building it with partner institutions and looking for the first researchers and students who want to start it with us.
How it works
High school students from Baltic countries apply and tell us what interests them in marine science.
The student spends about a month on a real research project, in an institution or a scientific team.
They leave with research experience, a mentor and contacts, and the Baltic gains young people who understand it.
