See the Sea is officially a foundation!

After five years as a grassroots project, we become a foundation based in Gdynia.

On 9 October 2025, See the Sea was entered into the Polish National Court Register as the See the Sea Foundation. It closes five years of work and opens a new chapter.

It began in September 2020 in Gdynia, as a school project in the Zwolnieni z Teorii olympiad. Over five years, with almost no budget, we grew it into windsurfing charity regattas for the Baltic, charity runs, the student scientific conference "Young Person and the Sea", fundraisers for the MARE Foundation, and more than five hundred engaged participants.

Becoming a foundation lets us put this work on a permanent footing: apply for grants, form partnerships, scale our Baltic Lessons programme to more schools, and organise larger events such as the Baltic Sea Hackathon.

Our goal does not change. We protect the Baltic and, at the same time, train and organise the generation that will live with it the longest.

About the See the Sea Foundation

See the Sea is a Gdynia-based foundation working for the Baltic Sea and a young generation of leaders. We run lessons and workshops in schools, organise events, and build an international network of young people across the Baltic countries.
